A Message from RVA Career Expo:

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for participating in the RVA Career Expo on Friday. We hope you had a great experience.

1. Review: View/download the list of partici pating companies with names of recruiters and job postings. Jot down which companies you met with, what you learned from your interactions with their representatives, and any kind of advice they gave to you.

2. Organize: Collect the contact information you gathered at the expo. Make sure not to lose those business cards or that piece of paper with the recruiter’s email, address and phone number. You'll need that information for step 3...

3. Follow-up with those you met. This is crucial to make the most of the event. What you experienced was your first step to building a professional relationship with someone of great importance in your future. Take the time to continue building that relationship by sending a thank you email.

4. Follow directions given to you about applying and submitting your resume and cover letter on company website. Deadlines may be coming up quickly, so it’s important to act on this step immediately!

5. Use social media to stay in contact too. Do you have a LinkedInAccount? Send a message along with an invitation to connect with those you met. Follow companies and recruiters on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. Follow our Twitter handleSubscribe to our Employer Twitter List, and Follow our Instagram handle.

6. Upload your resume: Resumes are shared with all employers who attended the RVA Career Expo, and many candidates have already been contacted for interviews. Don't miss this opportunity. Upload your resume at: www.vtcareerfair-resumes.com.
